INDUSTRIAL RANCH™

Our Story

The concept of Industrial Ranch™ emerged in 2014, during our first transition into warehouse living.
What began as an exploration of how we wanted to live and work evolved into a distinct design philosophy, one that balances the raw integrity of industrial size with the comfort and practicality of 1950's ranch-style living.

In 2018, that philosophy took a renewed physical form with the transformation of a 1960's pole barn in California’s Ojai Valley. Once a functional mill, the pole barn was reimagined as a modern gallery-style home and working studio, where art, architecture, and daily life coexist seamlessly. The space was designed to be lived in, worked in, and exhibited within.
Blurring traditional boundaries between domestic and creative environments.

Husband and wife team.
Olivia Flores brings a deep appreciation for mid-century modern and atomic-era design, drawn to clean lines, optimistic geometry, and enduring the demands of high quality entertaining.
David Flores, world renowned contemporary Artist,  found his approach rooted in brutalism and functional design, emphasizing structure, material honesty, and purpose-driven form. Their combined sensibilities converge in a language that is both rigorous and livable. Industrial in scale, ranch-like in spirit.

Industrial Ranch™ extends beyond a single structure. It functions as a design framework through which objects, spaces, and materials are explored. From large-scale concrete planters and benches to sculptural utility pieces, each element is conceived as a response to real use, real environments, and a belief that good design should be both intentional and enduring.

This first studio serves as Case Study No. 1
The foundation of an ongoing body of work. Industrial Ranch™ continues to evolve, one space and one object at a time.
